Donkeys

Aside from our dog Charlie, the donkeys are the friendliest animals at Rancho Poco Loco. They love to receive carrots, scratches, carrots, hugs, and carrots.

If you ever visit with the donkeys, though, remember that only the front part is friendly. Donkeys sometimes kick without looking to see what's behind them. Usually it's another donkey trying to get the treats they're eating, but it could be you. While donkeys seem able to withstand a swift kick, they can really hurt a person.

Chester is our jack. He is the sire of all the donkeys born here at Rancho Poco Loco. Chester was among the first residents of Rancho Poco Loco. He is very friendly with people, but is often a little too forward for the tastes of our female donkeys.
Polly is our largest donkey - she's even bigger than Chester. When you give her scratches, she likes to rub her face against you. It's very sweet, but we suspect she's also looking for food.

Lady is another of our females. She is wary of strangers, but is a good friend once you get to know her.
